Blood Money, by Tom Bradby

Set around the time of the stock market crash in '20s New York, story of an honest cop who's trying to work out what's the connection with a murder that's been made to look like a suicide, a missing girl, and an apparent criminal conspiracy in the police department.

This was OK but a bit confused by all the characters who didn't have a lot to distinguish them. And I think he was quite keen on evoking the atmosphere of the stock market crash but this didn't as it happen have much to do with the plot.

Would read another by this author but wouldn't race to find them.
