I think this one follows Country of the Blind - in this one Jack Parlabane finds himself in prison, with flashbacks being used to show us how he got there. The main story involves some sort of conspiracy involving MPs, spin doctors, and the church.

In fact, Parlabane is behind bars for most of the book, with the larger part of the action taking place without his direct involvement. And this puts a bit of a damper on things.

I'm writing this some time after finishing the book, and can't really remember much about it, so I think it wasn't one I'd bother with again.
