Eleven Days, by Donald Harstad

"Inspired by true events", tells the story of a series of killings centred around the activities of a satanic cult in Iowa. Written in the first person by someone who's worked in the police force. Very poor. No sense of tension, no way for the reader to anticipate what might be going on, just a series of events with occasional episodes where they stumble across a new suspect who provides information which leads to a "it turns out that what had happened was..." paragraph filling you in on a bit more of the story. Maybe this is what crime investigation is like in real life. Maybe this guy should stick to his day job.
