Frost at Christmas, by R.D. Wingfield

Same sort of stuff as the other Frost books I've read (A Touch of Frost and Hard Frost). This one is mainly about a little girl who goes missing when her mum fails to pick her up after school, but in the course of pursuing this investigation various other stuff turns up, notably a thirty year-old skeleton with a briefcase chained to its wrist.

Like A Touch of Frost, this story has the inspector being trailed by a newly promoted detective, who is similarly disgusted at Frost's sloppiness. For that reason the book felt very familiar, although I think I have read it before.

Easy holiday read.
