House-bound, by Winifred Peck

Story about a Scottish house wife in WW2 who has so much trouble finding domestic servants that she decides to manage the house and do all the housework by herself.

This was recommended by all three people on A Good Read so I ordered it from the library. They said it surprised them with its humour, so I was hopeful, but while there were a couple of smiles in it I found it a bit of a plod really, and while reading it I started on Therapy, and by the time I'd finished that I realised I just wasn't enjoying this book, so took it back to the library.
