Night Frost, by R.D. Wingfield

Poison-pen letters, a dead schoolgirl, and a serial granny-killer all stretch the resources of Denton's police force, already struggling with a 'flu epidemic that's thinned their numbers.

I think this is about the fourth Frost book I've read, and like the others, it was an enjoyable read. I'm not sure exactly what it is that makes it work: there doesn't seem to be anything particularly original here, and it's not as if Frost is an especially complex character, but the books seem to be pretty reliably good value.

I'll read the rest of them some time (I think there are six altogether).
