Agatha Raisin runs some kind of PR firm but decides she wants to retire and live in a Cotswold village. When she gets there, she tries to join in village life by entering a quiche for a baking contest - but someone who eats the quiche dies of poisoning. Agatha decides to turn detective and find out what's gone on.

Better than I'd been expecting (I picked this up at random from the library without very high hopes). It did rather seem to be a setup for a series of follow-on books though (and indeed there are several more). I think I would be prepared to read another one.
