This one has a jockey (Derek Franklin) whose brother dies in an accident. Derek is recuperating from a fall so has the time to help sort out his brother's business, which is concerned with the import of semi-precious stones. But there's someone else who's interested in the business as well, and Derek soon finds himself the target of forces who are out to get him, as he struggles to work out what his secretive brother had been planning.

Good enough read, nothing special, better than Shattered but not so good as the other Francis books I've read.
