The Enemy, by Lee Child

Jack Reacher book with a bit of a difference - this is set in 1989/90, when he still an MP in the army. The Berlin Wall comes down and the US military expects major shakeups. Reacher is unexpectedly transferred from Panama back to the states, where he's given a case of a high-up colonel(?) who's died of a heart attack: initially unsuspicious, the circumstances around the death blossom into something more sinister

Much too long, I think - about 14 hours of audio. Could have done with being edited, and in particular I think it would have been fine to lose the section about Reacher's brother and mother. A bit ridiculous at the end when Reacher goes after a corrupt colonel/general who calls in a battalion of tanks to attack him.

He kept talking about wearing "BDUs" which I've only just remembered to look up: stands for "Battle Dress Uniform".
