I think that someone on "A Good Read", talking about a different book, said that this one was a guilty pleasure, and everyone else agreed so I thought I'd give it a go. I think I expected it to be rather scandalous, but it felt fairly tame.

It was very readable: mostly reminded me of Peyton Place - sort of soapy, but hard to stop reading. I would be interested to see the film.
