Giles Fox is a blind scholar, who's spent years working on a mediaeval document, convinced that his translation will upset the academic world with his analysis of the linguistic quirks of the original. He's helped by an adoring research assistant, who proposes marriage to him in the first line of the book.

The book was funny and clever and I really enjoyed it.
